Clarifications on the abolition of the fee RAI RE

The circ. Inland Revenue 20/09/2010 No 46 has provided clarification on the requirements and procedures for use of the exemption provided by Canon RAI, for those aged over 75 years, art. 1 co. 132 of L. 244/2007 (Finanziaria 2008).
The facility, referred to the television in the place of residence, for those parties who have reached 75 years of age , with a personal income of the spouse and not exceeding a total of € 6713.98 (€ 516.46 for thirteen months), not living with other subjects other than the spouse, and holders of an income.
To avail of the benefit, applicants must submit a declaration to the Revenue stating that the replacement meeting these requirements by:
- April 30 of each year of subsidy for those who qualify for first time;
- July 31, for those wishing to qualify for the first time in relation to the second half of the year.
Limited to 2010, the deadline for submission of the declaration in lieu is November 30.
The circular of the Revenue has the taste of hoax. It 's true that people over 75 will no longer have to pay the subscription for public television, but the conditions specified make the news tragicomic: the measure in fact regards the elderly whose income is almost on the verge of abject poverty to which we probably , watching television is the least of the problems.
