0x8004FF40 error in Microsoft Security Essentials
As the title suggests, during installation of the beta 2 version of Microsoft Security Essentials (MSE), may receive this error, as shown.
Solution:
as indicated here, you have to remove all traces of previous anti-virus software installed, in this case, the previous version of MSE.
To remove traces of it will need to download the removal tool OneCare (also compatible with MSE) from here:
Removal Tool OneCare
after a restart, as required and proceed with installing the software.
